Alex Rodriguez is in the final stages of contract negotiations with the L.A. Dodgers.
At 9AM (Pacific time) Rodriguez’s management was grabbing an early brunch with friends, one person in the party being an undisclosed high ranking MLB official, in Los Angeles. At this brunch terms of Rodriguez’s soon to be signed “5 year contract” we’re discussed in detail.
Our source in the brunch party “overheard” that Rodriguez will take a small pay cut, in relation to his actual market value which was said to be estimated at “$33 million dollars per year,” because he has faith that Joe Torre will bring the team to the World Series with in the length of his new managerial contract.
Rodriguez is signing this new contract with the L.A. Dodgers because he, “wants to play in another major market team that has World Series potential.”

This is bullshit.
5 year contract? LOOOOOL.If you wanted to be a little more believable, try putting in 8 years. No way A-Rod signs for 5 years. Also, try doing a little research. It is widely known that A-Rod and Torre aren’t necessarily close. The chances of A-Rod saying this about Torre? NONE.
I feel sorry for anyone stupid enough to believe this. I could’ve made a believable story about A-Rod signing with (insert team) if I wanted to add traffic to my site like you do here. Can’t say the same for you. Just terrible.
#1 TMZ got the same flack in the past for breaking stories when they were relatively unknown (see Mel Gibson DUI). coed broke the news on Facebook Music a few days back and Universal Music Group sent out a press release yesterday confirming the story. good contacts and strong sources go a long way!
#2 If a-rod is happy so is Boras, remember this - arod doesn’t need boras
#3 like the article said, arod wants to play in a major market with a chance to win in the future (this is the equation to making money through advertising)

Cut the crap. No way A-Rod would accept a pay cut for any reason. He’s all about the money, nothing about the morals. He’s a perfect fit for the Yankees, and the only reason I’m glad to see him leave them is so they can BOTH be crushed.
This is the biggest full of shit I have seen Boras has said its a 12 year deal that they are seeking. I know the dodgers are good but A-Rod doesn’t care about that its about the money and he wants a 12yr contract at about 35ms yr. this is just crazy check your “sources” again please.
Free agents cannot negotiate or sign with a team other their most recent former team until the 16th day after the conclusion of the World Series. There is NO WAY this report is accurate.

You have to be kidding me. The funny think about this article is that AROD, Boras can’t even start talking money with teams until the 13th of November and if they did talk money before then they would subject to quite a bit of fines. So I find it hard to believe that the “HIGH RANKING MLB OFFICIAL” was anywhere near this conversation.
Not to mention that AROD and Torre hav enot always had the best of relationships.

No team but the Yankees is allowed to negotiate (financially) with Rodriguez yet. So if this is true, A-Rod could be suspended, the Dodgers fined and penalized draft picks, and Boras disbarred.

It’s impossible for any contract to be “in the final stages.” Teams aren’t allowed to discuss financial terms with free agents who didn’t last play for their teams until November 12th.

Hmmm, A-Rod takes a pay cut to go to a team that hasn’t been in contention for a LONG LONG time, yet wouldn’t even talk to the Yankees about a six year extention to the REMAINING three years bring it to 9 more years and $250,000,000.00.
